We are a group of three girls doing a title sequence project for their Media course. Our title sequence is based on a story about a boy who leads two different lives; the life of a good boy at home but also the popular boy in school. We aim to show the transition of his two worlds and the transformation he goes through in our title sequence.

 

2 FACED is a sequence about a boy who lives in an urban area. Our sequence starts off with our main protagonist - Charlie - coming home from a late night's work. He finds pills and alcohol sprawled across the table, after which he goes to sleep. In the morning Charlie gets up and starts cleaning, washing dishes, making tea etc. and we later find out that this tea is for his mother, who is found in bed with alcohol. As he wakes her up she goes to throw up. The initial idea is that the audience assumes his mother is has an alcohol/drug problem and sympathises with him. The mise-en-scene of the pills and alcohol as props reflects to this idea. Our music is simultaneous with the tone and mood of the sequence.

 

When he leaves his house, there is a change in the music which becomes more up-beat. Our character undergoes a transformation where he has a change of hair styles, and he becomes more confident. As he approaches school, he is greeted by his friends and his girlfriend, which reflect to this popular boy persona.
